The Napier Municipal Theatre is located on Tennyson Street, Napier.
Napier's original theatre was destroyed in the 1931 earthquake. The Art Deco Theatre in its current form was rebuilt in 1938 with 993 seats. The theatre is owned by the Napier City Council and run by Tourism Services.
While the exterior is in the Art Deco style of the era, the theatre has been redeveloped inside with modern theatre facilities, making it a unique entertainment venue. The theatre houses two parts, the main Theatre with your usual theatre style shows. The adjoining Pan Pac Foyer (with seating of 300) is available for hire and is a popular place for corporate events and functions.
